When you can understand how mosquitoes live, work and reproduce, it can help you understand the ways in which to keep them out of your backyard.

Mosquitos are a resilient insect. Some say they have been on this planet for over 200 million years!

A life cycle of a male mosquito is fairly short (3-5 days on average). A female mosquito’s life cycle is much longer (30 days on average).

It seems that mosquitoes’ main function is to reproduce. Mosquitoes require some sort of water source to lay their eggs. It is important for you to look at your background and see where you can eliminate any standing water.

Remove water from any of the following:

  • watering cans
  • bird baths
  • tires
  • flower pot saucers
  • trash cans
  • pools

Mosquitos enjoy warm and humid environments. Assess your backyard and eliminate any environment friendly for mosquitoes.  If you do these things, it will help limit the amount of mosquitos from invading your backyard. If you are still having mosquito issues, call The Mosquito Eliminators and we can even do your first application for free.
